Many people among may have heard about various paans like Calcutta Paan, Banarasi Paan, etc. And now a days some new paan are getting famous like Fire Paan, Ice Paan, Chocolate Paan and end number of various paan. But have you ever heard of Malai ka Paan? Well it was invented long ago but it became lost recipe and now it's only available in lucknow. Malai ka Paan, which is also known by different names in lucknow like Lucknavi paan, Balai ki Gilori or Malai ki Gilori was invented in a sweet shop named Ram Arsey in 1805. In those times Nawab of Awadh used to rule and tobacco were banned. Ram Arsey had discussions on how to get rid of habit of chewing tobacco. Is it something like only women can cook good food and not men? Well here's the answer In old days, as girl child turns 10, she's forced to do house chores like brooming, mopping, washing utensils, helping mom in cooking food and serving food to family members, etc. and only few were allowed to study. Whereas boy child were allowed to play, study and do whatever they want to do and the same thing is going on in today's generation but the only difference is that parents began to give more importance to education. Dal Makhni

 Whenever you see or say Dal Makhni, the credits goes to three friends. They are Kundan Lal Jaggi, Thakur Dass and Kundan Lal Gujral. They where the first people to open the restaurant named 'Moti Mahal' in Punjab after partition and to introduce Punjabi cuisine to the rest of the world in 1947. Dal Makhni basically has rich, smooth and creamy texture. Dal Makhni is authentically made with black lentils (black urad dal or kali dal) which is also known as maa ki dal, but now a days people also add red lentils (masoor dal) and red kidney beans (rajma) and also onions (authentically it doesn't goes) in order to make it more rich and increase the consistency of dal and side by to make it more heavier to our palate.
